According to PokerNews, Scott Margereson won the €2,700 EPT Second Chance at the 2026 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona festival, topping a field of 844 entries and overcoming Natasha Mercier in heads-up play. The event generated a €2,046,700 prize pool, and the result moved the British pro beyond $5 million in recorded live tournament earnings.
Per PokerNews, the tournament paid 127 places, with Margereson banking €361,060 and Mercier receiving €225,580 after the two met for the title. Cherish Andrews took third for €161,140, and the outlet noted that the top three players brought more than $13 million in combined live earnings into the event. The rest of the official final-table payouts went to Julien Thome in fourth (€123,940), Sanjaya Wadhwani in fifth (€95,360), Cristinel Dumitru in sixth (€73,360), Fabio Peluso in seventh (€56,400), Maciej Komorowski in eighth (€43,400), and Maksim Panyak in ninth (€33,380). PokerNews also listed Alex Keating, Simon Lofberg, Martins Adeniya, Dominik Panka, Thomas Eychenne, Juha Helppi, Tom Fuchs, and Christian Harder among the other players who finished in the money.
According to PokerNews, Barcelona also produced other notable winners. Manuel Stojanovic earned €320,474 after prevailing over Konstantinos Bouloutsos in the heads-up stage of the €15,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Unlimited Re-Entry event. In the €3,200 8-Game tournament, Max Herulf came out on top against Benny Glaser, taking €51,730 while Glaser collected €33,480 for second.
Per PokerNews, the €5,300 PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event was ongoing on August 26, when Day 4 restarted at 12:00 p.m. local time with 67 players left from a starting field of 1,823. Fabricio Nociolini began the day in front with 2,510,000 chips, ahead of Joris Ruijs on 2,185,000 and Sebastian Malec on 1,950,000. The eventual winner is set to receive €1,370,050, and Hall of Famer John Juanda remained in the field with 990,000.
